Reflections from MCT Summit Tokyo 2025: A Journey of Learning, Connection, and Inspiration 

A1 Technologies Senior Microsoft Engineer Sheik Lalloo reflects on his experience at the MCT Summit Tokyo 2025—sharing insights from global experts, the power of community connection, and why embracing Copilot and AI is critical for every Microsoft professional looking to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. 

 A Transformative Experience 

Attending the MCT Summit Tokyo 2025 was nothing short of transformative. As a Microsoft Engineer, I’ve always valued continuous learning, but this summit elevated that passion to a whole new level. 

 Listening to the Experts 

One of the most powerful aspects of the summit was hearing directly from subject matter experts. Their depth of knowledge, clarity of thought, and ability to break down complex topics made every session feel like a masterclass. Whether it was Cloud Architecture, AI & Copilot, Migration Projects, or Security Best Practices, each talk sparked new ideas and perspectives that I’m excited to bring back into my daily work. 

 Conversations That Matter 

Beyond the sessions, the real magic happened in the hallways and breakout areas. I had the chance to connect with trainers who bring both technical excellence and a passion for teaching. These conversations were filled with insights, practical advice, and shared experiences that made me feel part of a truly global community.

What made it even more special was realizing that I’ve built connections across continents. Whether in Europe or Asia, I now have peers I can reach out to for collaboration and friendship. To top it off, I joined a new WhatsApp group called ‘Tokyo Champions’—a space where the energy, support, and learning continue beyond the summit. 

 The Urgency of Embracing Copilot & AI 

A major takeaway was the critical importance of adopting Copilot and AI. As Microsoft professionals, we are at the forefront of a technological revolution—and the world isn’t waiting. AI is transforming how we work, collaborate, and solve problems. The earlier we embrace these tools, the more impact we can create.

It was eye-opening to hear Abhilekh share how he works 16 hours a day—8 powered by his own effort and 8 driven by Copilot. That’s not science fiction; it’s happening right now.

Another standout session by Leslie highlighted how Microsoft is driving toward AI Agents, reshaping how we interact with and build AI-driven solutions. Understanding these agents is essential for any professional looking to stay relevant in the future Microsoft ecosystem.

I also learned about the ‘Golden AI Triangle’ from Alejandro—a smart way to visualize Microsoft’s AI ecosystem through Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and the Agent Framework. This single framework provided clarity on where things are heading and how we can start preparing today. 

 A Slide That Stuck with Me 

One unforgettable moment came during Sherif’s session, where his slide simply said:

“Be annoying. Seriously.”

It was a humorous yet powerful reminder of the importance of curiosity—asking questions, digging deeper, and constantly seeking clarity. That mindset, especially in client projects, can be the difference between delivering a good solution and creating a great one. 

 Meeting the MVPs & MCTs 

Connecting with Microsoft MVPs and MCTs was deeply inspiring. Hearing their stories—their beginnings, challenges, and the doors opened through community contributions—reminded me that the MVP journey is about more than recognition. It’s about impact and growth.

This experience has sparked a personal goal for me: to contribute more, share knowledge, and one day earn the Microsoft MVP title.

As Haris beautifully said, their mission is to empower the younger generation through learning and mentorship. That mindset of lifting others while growing yourself is something I deeply admire and aim to embody.
